AIVane Browser Bridge Privacy Policy

AIVane Browser Bridge connects a user-installed AIVane desktop application with the user's Chrome or Edge browser. It supports browser automation created by the user and browser-action recording started explicitly by the user.

Data the extension handles

When an AIVane workflow runs, the extension may access the active tab's URL, title, page structure, selected element information, form values entered by the user or supplied by the workflow, and screenshots or accessibility snapshots requested by the workflow. When the user starts recording, the extension may access the same information for the actions the user performs while recording is active.

The extension also stores a locally generated browser-profile identifier and a bridge secret. They are used only to authenticate communication with the local AIVane application.

Selected pages and form values may contain personal or sensitive information, including authentication information. Extension version 0.6.2 omits password-type and password-autocomplete input values from recorded fill and key events, and removes their value attributes from recorded DOM snapshots. This is not complete redaction: screenshots, custom fields, page text, URLs, and workflow-requested data can still contain sensitive information. Avoid recording passwords or sensitive records that are not necessary for your intended workflow.

How data is used

The extension uses this data only to execute the workflow requested by the user, produce its requested result or evidence, and record the workflow that the user explicitly started. It does not sell data, use data for advertising, or use data to determine creditworthiness, lending, insurance, or employment eligibility.

Our use of information obtained through Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.

Where data goes

The extension sends the data needed for these functions only to the AIVane application running on the same device through an authenticated loopback connection. It does not send browser data directly to an AIVane cloud service or to third parties. The AIVane application stores workflow outputs according to the storage location and retention choices made by its user or organization.

Optional AI features in the desktop application

The companion AIVane desktop application offers optional AI-assisted workflow generation and conversation features. When you explicitly approve those features, the desktop app may send selected recording evidence, page content, screenshots, workflow details, and your instructions either through AIVane Hosted AI to its selected model providers or to a compatible endpoint configured by you or your organization. The extension itself does not contact either AI service. Hosted AI uses an optional AIVane account and credits; a configured provider may charge separately. The AIVane Desktop Privacy Policy linked below describes the Hosted AI account, service route, and provider processing. You can record and run existing workflows without an AI account or provider configuration. Review the selected material and recipient before approving AI use.

User control

Users control whether to install or enable the extension, which browser profile to use, which workflows to run, and when to start or stop recording. Users can disable or remove the extension in the browser's Extensions page. Removing the extension stops its browser access; data already stored by the local AIVane application must be managed from that application.

Security

The local bridge accepts connections only from the installed extension and uses a per-browser-profile secret. AIVane does not intentionally collect the bridge secret as product analytics or transmit it to third parties.
